Well, the Cat Show was awesome.
If you remember, my dream and mission in going was to try to pet a Hairless Cat. (Actually, my dream was to walk into the Cat Show and have every Hairless Cat run to me, surround me, and let me pet them. If I let myself really imagine it properly, this fantasy also involves Muppets and one or two musical numbers. But, for the purposes of this blog, I won't get carried away...)
My dream was realized.
I am not sure of this Cat's name, nor am I sure that he was pleased to be awakened from his nap to be mauled by a handsy human. The fact remains, however, that, pleased or not, he let me touch him and photograph him, and for that, I will always be truly grateful.
Besides getting to pet the Hairless Cat of my Dreams, I also had the opportunity to observe things such as: a woman wildly teasing her cat's hair like it was the 80s and the cat had a hot date; a man spritzing his cat's white, woolen bottom with what I guessed was baby powder, while the cat looked off into the distance in humiliated disbelief; and, a room full of people who adore cats.
I think I may have seen every cat sweatshirt that has ever been manufactured all in one room.
While I was there, I photographed lots of Cats, some happy to have their pictures taken, others.....maybe not so much. Here's an overview:
I end by saying, MEOW.
Now, go lay down for your nap and dream of Hairless Cats.
