The Sophisticated Rabbit's Guide to Summer Cocktails

This may come as a surprise, but Rabbits loooooove Themselves a cocktail.

Is that a surprise?

I'm not sure if it will be, or if it simply made sense the moment you read it, and you are now sitting and shaking your head and saying, "Well, of COURSE Rabbits love cocktails!  Look at the things they have to deal with everyday-- the incompetence of humanity, for a start.

Why, I remember when I first caught my Beloved Miss Zoe having a lovely glass of Cabernet.  I was shocked at first, but then, it all seemed to make sense.

Those of you with Rabbits, have you noticed this?

Well, last fall, Elizabeth and Blueberry were invited to a Mad Men themed birthday party.  If you are not familiar with Mad Men, it is a show about advertising in the 60's.  Rabbits love the drama and the outfits, but what they especially love, they told me later (after they were three ears to the wind), is the cocktails.

Blueberry suggested, that since we are busy painting for Arts and Drafts, we should show that we are not only painting pictures of Italy, but we are also painting....cocktails.

And Blueberry's fave 60s cocktail, you ask?

Introducing....the Vodka Gimlet.  Dainty, refreshing, and perfect for a Sophisticated Rabbit.  Like this one:

 This is one Sophisticated Rabbit

This one is so sophisticated that you probably can't handle it.

Here is Blueberry with a picture of Her fave cocktail.  And below, She will share Her Own Secret Recipe:

Blueb's Vodka Gimlet

1½ oz vodka
¾ oz lime juice
3-4 lime slices
1 teaspoon confectioner's sugar

Pour vodka, lime juice, and sugar into mixing glass. Shake and strain into glass. Add 3 to 4 slices of lime.

IMPORTANT LAST STEP:  Dip a Tip of Fuzzilicious Rabbit Ear into the glass before serving!  This is what sets the Cocktail apart as BLUEB'S SECRET RECIPE!!!

And there you have it.  The perfect cocktail for the Summer (or start early in Spring to perfect it!!) made by Perfect Rabbits.  Who could ask for more?

  1. You does make sense now that you tell us. Of course they have to relax with a cocktail (or three) after all they do in a day!

    Thanks for the recipe, Blueb!

P.S. The painting looks good. :)
